Real Peace

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”   John 14:1 (ESV)

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid”.  John 14:27 (ESV)

In difficult times, when we seem lost or afraid–we are troubled in our hearts. Here Jesus gives us PEACE…HIS PEACE!
There are times during the “storms of life” that we have a type of peace. The winds seem to die down, the tempest calms…but for a moment, and we have the peace the world gives. Temporary peace is not real peace…it is based upon only our current circumstances.
But God gives peace (real peace)…”not as the world gives”. The Prince of Peace offers us REAL PEACE: A peace that carries you through when your circumstances do not let up–the storm bears down on you, and during the worst part of the storm–you have real peace in your heart!
That is the peace Jesus gives us in John 14:1, 27. So, don’t let your heart be troubled–do not let fear drive you–Be at peace in the midst of the storm. Anyone can be at peace when it’s calm and life is going well, but ONLY in Christ can we experience REAL PEACE in the middle of the worst storms!

I have been in the middle of a storm lately, and I have been driven to my knees to seek His Peace with all my heart, soul, body, and mind.  I pray that I can go through the tuff time allowing others around me to see His peace instead of my brokenness!
